Head of Internal Affairs

The role

This is the most senior post in PERA's integrity set-up. The Head runs the Internal Affairs wing at the Lahore headquarters and its field teams, and is answerable for how fairly and quietly misconduct by enforcement staff is caught and dealt with.

Main responsibilities

• Design internal checks over field formations and enforcement staff.
• Supervise intelligence-led monitoring of staff conduct, integrity and public dealing.
• Spot systemic gaps: misuse of authority, bribery, financial harassment of citizens and repeat misconduct.
• Screen complaints and confidential reports, and recommend fact-finding inquiries, investigations or disciplinary action.
• Report regularly to the competent authority on integrity risks and corrective action.
• Supervise the Managers, Deputy Managers and Assistant Managers of the wing.

Eligibility

• Master's or bachelor's degree in any discipline from an HEC-recognised institution (16 years of education).
• 10 years' experience in the armed forces, police or another law enforcement agency. Service with a premier intelligence agency is preferred.
• Age 25 to 65 years.

About the advertisement

PERA was set up under the Punjab Enforcement and Regulation Act, 2024. These posts are filled under the PERA (Appointment and Conditions of Service for Contractual Employees) Regulations, 2026, on the Special PERA Pay Package (SPPP), which is negotiable, for an initial three years that can be extended on satisfactory performance.

• Applicants already in government, semi-government or autonomous service must apply through proper channel with a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
• Only shortlisted candidates are called for the test or interview, and no TA/DA is paid.
• Successful candidates get a provisional offer letter, subject to verification of degrees, experience certificates, NOC and antecedents.
• Canvassing or submitting false documents leads to disqualification at any stage.
• Experience in a private firm counts only if the firm is registered with the SECP, the Registrar of Firms or another public-sector regulator.
