Tourism Constable

Constables are the face of the Tourism Force at historic and recreational sites: guiding visitors, keeping order and helping tourists who need it. Men and women apply on the same terms, apart from the height and chest standards.

Eligibility

• Intermediate (HSSC) with at least a second division from a recognised board.
• Height: 5 ft 6 in for men, 5 ft 2 in for women.
• Chest: 33 to 34.5 inches (men).
• Eyesight 6/6.
• Age 22 to 29.

Relevant experience may be preferred but is not required.

About the force

The Punjab Tourism Force is a uniformed unit of the Department of Tourist Services, under the Tourism, Archaeology and Museums Department. All posts are on a lump-sum package with a 10% annual increase, on contract for three years, extendable but not regularised. Postings can be anywhere in Punjab, and candidates need a Punjab domicile.

Medical certificate

Candidates for Inspector, Sub-Inspector and Constable must get a medical certificate recording all physical measurements, issued on or before the closing date and signed and stamped by the Medical Superintendent of a District Headquarters Hospital or Mian Munshi Hospital, Lahore. • General age relaxation applies under Notification No. SORI(S&GAD)9-36/81 dated 08.08.2016.
• Recruitment follows the Contract Appointment Policy 2004 and the Recruitment Policy 2022 of the Government of the Punjab.
• Shortlisted candidates take a proficiency test and interview; proficiency in English and computer skills are preferred.
• Only practical experience after the prescribed qualification counts.
• Applicants already in government, semi-government or autonomous service must apply through proper channel with a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
• No TA/DA is paid. Incomplete or late applications are not entertained, and fake documents lead to disqualification at any stage.
