Chief Executive Officer

The CEO reports to the board and is expected to grow the company by expanding the power market in Punjab and beyond: extending the network, delivering the targets set by the provincial government and building the next generation of leaders.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations and extend the transmission network.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to meet the government's and board's targets.
• Work at the top level with the regulator, the federal government, other provinces, private investors, lenders and bulk power consumers.
• Keep the company ready for market reforms such as the Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market (CTBCM).
• Build a professional team and plan succession.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree in engineering at minimum; a master's in engineering, engineering management or business or project management is preferred.
• 20 years of post-qualification power sector experience, including 5 years as CEO or directly reporting to the CEO.
• Transmission utility, contract management, regulatory and tariff experience preferred.
• Maximum age 62.

About PGCL

Punjab Grid Company Limited is wholly owned by the Government of the Punjab and works under the Energy Department to provide electricity transmission services within Punjab. All four posts are on a lump-sum salary.
