General Manager Technical

The company's senior engineer, accountable for the grid itself, from the first line route to operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design transmission lines and grid stations, and oversee their operation.
• Supervise connection agreements with users of the transmission system.
• Identify projects for development by the province or under PPP.
• Select and monitor consultants, contractors and private partners.
• Liaise on lines from new generation plants to the national grid or isolated networks.
• Supervise operation and maintenance, in house or outsourced.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's in electrical or mechanical engineering from an HEC-recognised university; a master's is preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience at management level in the power sector.
• Maximum age 50.

About PGCL

Punjab Grid Company Limited is wholly owned by the Government of the Punjab and works under the Energy Department to provide electricity transmission services within Punjab. All four posts are on a lump-sum salary.
