GIS Specialist

The task

The project needs to know what already exists before it can improve it. The GIS Specialist will map the water supply, sanitation and solid waste systems of the target tehsils from asset surveys, then turn that map into a management information system for the whole project.

• Review the GIS resources on hand and help procure the extra hardware and software needed.
• Develop the GIS database of municipal service facilities and assets.
• Build the GIS-based MIS that will be rolled out across the project tehsils.
• Create dashboards for quick trend analysis against performance standards.

Eligibility

• Master's degree in GIS or space sciences.
• 8 years of relevant experience in GIS mapping, MIS or database administration, including 4 years on similar projects.
• Maximum age 60.

About the project

PRMSC is a government-owned not-for-profit company, incorporated with the SECP under Section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017. It runs the World Bank-funded Punjab Rural Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Project (PRSWSSP) in 16 selected tehsils of Punjab. These head-office posts are project contracts on the PPS (project pay scale).

• Apply online through the Punjab Job Portal and attach copies of educational certificates, degrees, experience certificates and other supporting documents.
• All degrees must be from HEC-recognised institutions.
• The newspaper advertisement gives the last date as Monday, 26 October 2026; the portal lists 27 October 2026. Apply by the 26th to be safe.
• Applicants already in government, semi-government or autonomous service must apply through proper channel with a No Objection Certificate (NOC). Applications without an NOC, or with an expired one, are not entertained.
• Only shortlisted candidates are called for interview, and no TA/DA is paid. With many applicants PRMSC may shortlist further.
• Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
• The portal asks for a domicile certificate for these posts. Punjab residents can request one at home through the government's Dastak service (call 1202 or use the Dastak app).
