If you took NAT or GAT to get into your university, the National Testing Service may also help pay for it. Its Need-Based Scholarship, now in its second phase and paid for from NTS's corporate social responsibility budget, covers all or part of the tuition at NTS-associated universities and adds a stipend of up to Rs 25,000 a semester for the whole programme.
It is need-based in the true sense: your university's own committee looks at your family's finances and recommends you, and an NTS committee with an HEC representative makes the award. Students already enrolled can apply too, if they passed NAT or GAT for admission and scored at least 2.5 GPA in their last semester.
NTS sends the money to the university, which passes the stipend on to you each semester and sends NTS progress reports. If information turns out to be false, NTS cancels the award and the university recovers the money.
