Incharge / Deputy Manager (PMO)

A project post in PNSC's newbuilding programme. The officer represents the owner at the shipyard and with designers and equipment makers: checking drawings, witnessing tests and trials, and reporting deviations and risks against milestones.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's in Naval Architecture, Shipbuilding, Marine or Mechanical Engineering from an HEC-recognised institute.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in ship design, newbuilding, shipyard supervision, technical consultancy or construction.
• Experience of FATs, HATs, inclining experiments and sea trials, and of writing technical, deviation and risk reports.
• Good written and spoken English; able to attend the shipyard and subcontractors as needed. Age up to 55.

Preferred: container or feeder vessels of about 1,000 TEU or more, at least one newbuilding supervised, hull structure and welding/NDT experience, and working knowledge of class rules, IMO, SOLAS and MARPOL.

Contract for up to 2 years or the end of the project, whichever is earlier; extendable by mutual consent.
