Community College Initiative (CCIP)

CCIP is for a person most scholarships forget: the capable young professional with a two or three-year bachelor's who is already working, often in a field like agriculture, rescue services or early childhood education, and who will not sit a four-year degree. It sends them for a year to an American community college, where they earn a vocational certificate in their field.

It is built around work you already do. You must be employed now, with less than three years of experience, in one of seven fields: agriculture, applied engineering, business management, media, tourism and hospitality, public safety (rescue and disaster management) or early childhood education. The grant pays tuition, textbooks, airfare, a living stipend, accommodation and health insurance, and US partners find your college.

Selection runs in four rounds: screening, scoring, interviews in Islamabad and Karachi by US and Pakistani panellists, and final approval in the US. Selected candidates must reach 400 on the institutional TOEFL.
