Most scholarships ask you to apply first and find a university later. The Knowledge Corridor works the other way round, and that is its whole logic: you win a PhD place at one of America's top 100 universities on your own merit, and then HEC funds the degree so that you come back and teach.
HEC's 2027 advertisement spells out the money. In Category I, for the top 50 QS-ranked universities, tuition is paid as the university invoices it. In Category II, for those ranked 51 to 100, HEC pays tuition up to USD 12,000 a year. Both categories carry a stipend of USD 19,000 a year and USD 2,000 a year for health insurance. It is for the PhD only, not a master's leading to a PhD.
There are two windows a year: 30 October 2026 for the Spring/Summer 2027 intake and 30 March 2027 for Fall 2027. HEC is clear that it is not bound to fund every eligible applicant; it selects the best of each batch, with preference for the priority subjects.
